Microdosing means taking a GLP‑1 medication, such as semaglutide or tirzepatide, at a lower dose than a standard weight loss plan and increasing it slowly, only if you need to. The medication is the same; the dosing plan is different.
A standard plan steps up to a target dose over several months. A microdosing plan stays lower and moves more slowly, so changes in appetite and weight tend to be more gradual. Your provider sets the starting dose and adjusts it at each check-in.
Usually weight loss is slower at lower doses. Microdosing is often chosen for tolerability, appetite and craving support, or maintenance rather than the fastest possible result. Results vary from person to person.
Lower doses may mean fewer stomach side effects like nausea, but side effects can still happen at any dose. Tell your care team about anything you notice so your provider can adjust your plan.
Compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide, the same medications as our standard GLP‑1 plans. Your provider recommends one based on your health history and goals, and you can discuss switching at any time.
Yes. If your goals change, your provider can raise your dose toward a standard plan, or keep you on a lower maintenance dose once you reach your goal.
